Caballero Las Lomas is a washed coffee from the Caballero family’s farms in the Marcala region of Honduras. Marysabel Caballero and Moises Herrera have been long-standing partners of Nordic Approach, with coffee from the family being purchased since 2012.
Grown at around 1600 meters above sea level, this Catuai lot has a clean and balanced profile shaped by washed processing. In the cup, we find red fruit jam, raisin and dried stone fruit, followed by a smooth sweetness of milk chocolate and delicate herbal black tea.
The Caballero family manages almost 200 hectares across 17 different farms, all located around their own Xinacla wet mill. Their work is carefully documented, with continuous investment in equipment, new varieties, soil health and biodiversity. The result is a consistent and well-structured coffee that reflects the family’s long-term focus on quality and their important role in Honduran specialty coffee.
