Kimuli means “flower” in Luganda – and the name fits the cup beautifully. Kimuli #2 is a clean, sweet and distinctly tea-like coffee with notes of florals, raspberry jam, plum and cacao. Caramel sweetness, a gentle herbal character and a long, structured finish develop as the cup cools.
The coffee comes from smallholder farmers in the Bulambuli area, where most farms are smaller than one hectare. The cherries are processed at a washing station built in 2022 in collaboration with Ibero. For this washed lot, the cherries are pulped, fermented and then carefully dried under controlled conditions.
Kimuli #2 is a great example of the potential of Eastern Uganda. As a filter coffee, it delivers an intense, layered and sweet cup, bringing together florals, fruit and a distinct tea-like character. Good body, a long finish and plenty of sweetness make it a versatile coffee for V60 and other filter brewing methods.
