Bombe #1 comes from smallholder farmers in Bombe, Bensa, one of the higher-altitude coffee-growing areas of Ethiopia’s Sidama Zone. The coffee is grown at 1,900–2,400 masl and consists of Ethiopian Heirloom varieties, including local landraces and JARC selections.
The coffee is processed as an anaerobic natural. Carefully sorted ripe cherries are sealed in oxygen-limited tanks for controlled fermentation before being transferred to raised African drying beds. The cherries are dried slowly under natural sunlight and regularly turned to ensure even drying.
In the cup, Bombe #1 is sweet, bright and layered, with notes of baked yellow fruit, garden berries, mango and raspberry. Citrus and dark fruit bring freshness and depth, while a soft milk chocolate and caramel character adds sweetness to the finish.
