Workshop – recipes for V60
Are you having trouble with your V60 recipe, or would you like to discuss different techniques to improve it?
In this workshop, we’ll explore and practice different approaches to creating a recipe for brewing coffee with a V60. We’ll discuss the most commonly used methods and, if you’d like, we can also talk about the ones you currently use.
We’ll focus on the appropriate coffee-to-water ratio for pour-over methods like the V60, explain why blooming is used during brewing, and how it affects coffee extraction. We’ll also look at pulse pouring – how many pulses are too many, and when it’s best to choose a specific number. We’ll also touch on the influence of grind size and other variables on the final taste of the coffee.
During the workshop, there will be time for your own recipes, which we can analyze, adjust, and refine together. Various equipment and several types of coffee will be available to compare different approaches and flavors. If you’d like, you can also bring your own grinder or a recipe you typically use.
The goal of the workshop is for you to leave with a more understandable and repeatable process that will help you gain greater control over the final cup, even when brewing at home.
