In this workshop, we’ll focus on the world of decaf coffee and show you that decaf definitely doesn’t have to mean compromising on flavor. To start, we’ll introduce the most common decaffeination methods. We’ll explain how each process works, how they differ, and how they affect the coffee’s final flavor profile.

We’ll taste several decaf coffees processed using different decaffeination methods and compare their aroma, sweetness, acidity, body, and overall character.

At the end of the workshop, we’ll work together to fine-tune recipes for our decaffeinated coffees. We’ll collaborate to find the best espresso and pour-over recipes that bring out the coffee’s best qualities, and we’ll demonstrate how small changes in the recipe affect the final extraction and flavor.

The goal of the workshop is to gain a better understanding of how decaf coffee is made, dispel the most common myths associated with decaf, and gain practical experience with its preparation and tasting.
