Rung’eto Kii AA is a vibrant and elegant Kenyan coffee produced at Kii Factory, one of three wet mills operated by the Rung’eto Farmers Cooperative Society in Kirinyaga, on the slopes of Mount Kenya. The area is known for producing intense, complex coffees with a distinctive fruit-driven character.
The cup is bright, juicy and deeply fruity, with notes of lemon marmalade, hibiscus, raspberries and blackcurrant. Citrus brightness meets marmalade-like sweetness and ripe berry character, while hibiscus adds a delicate floral layer. The result is a clean, complex and distinctly Kenyan cup with plenty of sweetness and a long, expressive finish.
The coffee is processed using the traditional washed method. After careful hand sorting, the cherries are pulped and dry fermented for 18–36 hours before being washed and density graded. The coffee is then sun-dried on African drying beds for 12–20 days. Kii Factory is part of the Fairtrade-certified Rung’eto Farmers Cooperative Society, which represents around 950 farmers.
