Norbil Pérez grows Caturra cherries at 2,183 meters above sea level on his farm, La Chirimoya, in El Campo, Cajamarca. As a member of the Aromas del Valle Cooperative's microlot program, he oversees every step of production himself. From harvest to drying on a small family-run farm typical of this high-altitude region of northern Peru.
His 2025 lot is processed using the Frutas Maduras method, a ripe-fruit selection technique that lifts his washed Caturra into exceptional territory. The cup is silky and layered: bright red berries and apple candy up front, unfolding into milk chocolate, jasmine, dried cranberry and a long, brown-sugary finish.
Nordic Approach has partnered with Norbil since 2021, sourcing through Aromas del Valle - a cooperative of around 300 small farmers committed to quality, traceability, and fair premiums. This is specialty coffee with a clear origin and a producer who takes real pride in his work.
