Gitwe Karinga PB – Kenya

PB Gitwe Karinga #055 is a washed Kenyan coffee from Karinga Factory in Kiambu County, located at around 1,840 meters above sea level. Grown in red volcanic soils and processed by the Gitwe Farmers Cooperative Society, this lot is based primarily on SL28 and SL34 varieties, with small amounts of Batian and Ruiru 11, resulting in a classic, refined Kenyan profile.

In the cup, the coffee shows vibrant blackcurrant notes, a smooth, syrupy mouthfeel, and a clean, layered structure. Delicate jasmine and white tea nuances lead into a long, wine-like finish with hints of blackcurrant and mango. Scoring 89 points, it is an elegant and expressive example of high-quality Kenyan washed coffee.
