A course for all lovers of filtered coffee, whether you are a seasoned barista or a novice who wants to start preparing filters at home. In 4 hours we will find out what the differences are in the quality and types of coffee suitable for filter preparation and how these relationships affect the resulting taste and recipe tuning. In the practical part, you will always try different recipes for V60, Aeropress and Clever.
The course will include:
coffee theory focused on:
- understanding the relationships of recipe adjustment
- the influence of coffee quality, coffee aging and coffee type on the resulting taste
Practical exercises focused on:
- 2 recipes for preparing Hario V60 in the differences in preparation efficiency and greater coffee yield.
- 2 recipes for preparing Aeropress for a better understanding of coffee yield.
- 1 recipe using the clever dripper method (imitates the batch brew system)
- during training, the trainees always try a different type of recipe so that they can immediately compare the impact of the change in the taste of the coffee.
The course is suitable for baristas and enthusiastic home baristas who want to understand the taste of coffee and improve their preparation of filtered coffee.
It is advisable to take a small snack to the course and not drink a large amount of coffee before the course.
Please do not wear intense perfume to the courses, given the focus on preparing and tasting coffee, it is advisable to use an unobtrusive, discreet deodorant.
The course is led by Jaroslav Slámečka - co-founder of the Candycane coffee roastery, Czech champion in the Coffee in good spirits 2023 category, graduate of courses by leading figures in the coffee world such as Gwilym Davies and Scott Rao.
