Dhilgee Banko Gotiti – Ethiopia

Dhilgee Banko Gotiti #1 is a washed Ethiopian coffee from the Gedeb woreda in Yirgacheffe, produced by smallholder farmers at altitudes of 1950–2100 masl. Each farmer cultivates just 1–2 hectares, and together they contribute to an annual production of about 54 tons. The cherries are processed at the Banko Gotiti washing station, owned by Wete Ambela Coffee Export PLC.

This coffee belongs to the “Dhilgee” flavour profile—Oromiffa for “bloody red”—which represents coffees with light florals, red berries, purple fruit, and an overall round sweetness. The 2025 harvest offers a bright, sparkling cup with notes of yellow fruit and citrus. It achieved a cupping score of 87, reflecting both its clarity and complexity.

Carefully handpicked cherries are pulped, soaked for 48 hours, and then dried on African beds for 18–21 days. The result is a clean and expressive coffee that highlights the distinctive terroir of Yirgacheffe while offering a vibrant and sweet sensorial experience.
