Ismeria Leon – Peru

This washed Bourbon coffee comes from the Santa Teresa region in Cajamarca, Northern Peru. It is grown by Ismeria León on her farm, La Lúcuma, located at over 2,100 meters above sea level. Named after a lúcuma tree at its center, the farm benefits from rich microclimates and fertile soils that help develop a diverse and complex flavor profile.

Ismeria, a hardworking single mother, began her coffee journey in 2015 with her neighbors, recognizing the region’s ideal conditions for high-quality coffee. She lives with her four children and takes great pride in improving her land and coffee through careful processing and fermentation techniques to ensure top quality.

The coffee is part of a larger project supported by Aromas Del Valle, a cooperative with around 300 members that focuses on premium microlots and community blends. This initiative helps small family farms across Northern Peru access better funding, quality control, and fair premiums, supporting sustainable growth and stronger producer communities.
