La Cumbre #1 – Colombia

tropical fruit, pralines, cola

This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Ana Cecilia Uribe is the matriarch of a multigenerational, business-savvy, coffee-producing family based in Garzón, Huila. Her oldest son Danilo Pérez oversees the family’s five fincas, as well as their post-collection processing plant, mill, and multifaceted parchment trading company.

At Finca La Cumbre (where this lot was cultivated), located in the nearby municipality of El Pital, Danilo works side by side with a local producer named Rafita Gómez - who is also the farm manager - with the objective of producing high-quality, naturally-processed specialty coffee. This dry manner of processing coffee is what the Pérez Uribe family has come to be known for, on a departmental, as well as national, level. Due to the warm and dry climate of this part of Huila, which sits at 900 m.a.s.l, it made sense to build a post-collection processing plant in this municipality, especially for the production of natural coffees. La Cumbre spans a total surface area of eleven hectares, nine of which are currently planted with coffee. The remaining two hectares are protected forest reserves.

This coffee is incredible live and funky. This lot is selected for espresso roast for its heavy body and cola-like sweetness.
