La Arabia

Ruben comes from three generations of coffee growers, his brothers and some cousins are also growing coffee nearby. The name of his farm, La Arabia, comes from his grandfather. His grandfather had always wanted to visit Arabia and that was why Ruben named his farm La Arabia. We have been working with Ruben for three years now. We know that producing organic coffees is considerably harder and requires more investment from the producer, and we are grateful for his work.

When we asked Ruben what he would like to tell roasters he said, "...talk to your friends about the good Colombian coffee" It is with that in mind that we would like to tell you about how good Ruben's coffee is, with complex florals upfront and structured acidity.

His farm La Arabia is spread over 8 hectares on which he grows coffee, while he also grows sugar cane, fruits and yuca on additional land. The farm is at 1980 masl and Ruben is growing Colombia, Castillo and Caturra varieties. At La Arabia the main harvest is between March and August, where 80% of the coffee produced is picked. There is a smaller harvest in October to December where 20% of the farms production is picked.
